Spring / Summer 2010
MISS HAVISHAM
Bittars iconic Miss Havisham collection evolves effortlessly into Spring-- balancing clean, modern shapes with organic, liquid metal textures sprinkled with reverse set crystals which emulate raw drusy stones. Subtle hues of gold and rose gold dance throughout the collection while a mixture of black pyramid spikes and Swarovski crystals exude both a feminine sparkle and a bit of edge. Bittar encourages contradiction this season by gently softening the lines between pretty and tough, soft and hard, delicate and bold. Miss Havishams high fashion appeal and statement- making sensibility have become indicative of the line due to which never shy away from their presence in the spotlight.
Bittar continues to push the boundaries this season, using electric pops of neon pink, accented with dripping gold edges and a fearless 80s attitude. Bittar also combines his organic metalwork, which mimics the look of crumpled paper, with liquid-like pools of hand-carved Lucite--which together reflect the fluid nature of water.
ELEMENTS
Bittars world renowned Elements line is a unique blend of semi precious stones mixed with classic metal smith work from the 60s and 70s. For spring 2010, Bittars Elements collection can be divided into two distinct groupings: The Vendome Group and The Calder Group.
THE VENDOME GROUP Inspired by classic French costume jewelry of the early 1980s, Bittar creates a playful pairing of knowingly oversized yet undoubtedly elegant designs. The twisted rope metal work is a subtle nod to the Parisian women, confidently strolling along the Place de Vendome. This season, Bittar combines 18k brushed gold plating with reverse cut hydro quartz stones that are meticulously hand-carved to mimic the soft puddles of rain left by a city storm over Paris.
THE CALDER GROUP Inspired by the innovative mobile sculptures of renowned visual artist and sculptor Alexander Calder, Bittar further explores the concept of negative space by weaving window-like mazes out of twisted metal and semi-precious stones in juxtaposed colors.
